About

The writer Elbert Hubbard said, “Art is not a thing; it is a way.”

A marital life characterized by dull routine, strained affections, absent or unfulfilling sex, and the stresses of unrelieved responsibility seems, more than a little, like an extended tour of Dante’s Hell. Why bother? The author of The Marital Arts, Dr. Larry Stallman, believes that there is really very little reason to endure an uninspired marriage, and that there is another way: we can all choose the commitment to transform our marriage into something special, something transcendent, something like…Art. It is the purpose of this book to provide insight into the attitudes and values essential for the creation of Marital Art.

Dr. Larry Stallman has been a psychologist and family therapist for over 35 years. He received his Bachelors Degree from Columbia College; and his Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Psychology from Temple University. He is also a sculptor and musician and holds a Masters Degree in Puppetry and Dramatic Arts from the University of Connecticut. Larry was born in Queens, New York and lives in Albany New York with his wife Rachelle who is a Dance/Movement Therapist, dancer, choreographer, and voice-over actor, and their son Gabriel who is a musician and producer. In addition to his family, he is surrounded by enormously creative friends who stimulate and surprise him every day. He feels very lucky.
